should i keep getting
fill ins?
For optimal nail care we recommend that after four applications of gel polish you let your nails “chill” for a week. This isn’t mandatory but it can help.
Structured manicures aka overlays are a great way to let your nails grow out. If they need to be removed due to lift and cracking we will do so. Your nails are evaluated at each appointment.

Do gel nails chip?
Gel polish won’t chip as quick as regular nail polish chips. However, while some customers have hung onto their gel polish for two - three weeks, some customers experience chipping after 1 week. Gel polish can chip quickly depending on how you take care of your nails which brings us to the next FAQ…
How do I make my gel manicure last longer?
If you’re like some of us at OMN, your gel starts chipping by the second week (Nail techs are very hard on their nails). However, once you're done and you look down at your gorgeous gel manicure, you want to make them last forever (or at least 1-2 weeks). If so, here is what to do:
Avoid Too-Hot Water. ...
Add Additional Top Coat. …
Add a strength layer to your manicure...
Push Back Your Cuticles. ...
Wear Rubber Gloves When Cleaning. ...
Carry a file with you in case your nail breaks...
Most importantly USE CUTICLE OIL DAILY
Side Note: Nails are a process between you and your manicurist. It is a 80/20 relationship. Much of it depends on what you do when you leave the Nail Shop. Cleansers hair oils, washing dishes etc can break down polishes (even gel) and cause chipping.
Are gel manicures
for me?
Gel manicures can be a great option for many people. However, they may not be a good option for people who are highly sensitive to UV light; UV sensitivity may be increased by genetic factors, certain medical conditions, and the use of some medications and supplements (please seek medical guidance if you feel like you fall into one of these categories). To reduce exposure to UV lights we do have protective gloves that can be worn during the manicure.
We also can apply water resistant sunscreen with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) of 30 or higher to hands before curing (note: it takes 15 minutes for it to kick in so there will be a delay with that option).
Please remember that Gel manicures still chip. Certain medications can prevent proper adhesion. Oily nail beds also can cause gel to chip easily.
If my Gel chips will
you redo my nails?
We guarantee gel polish up to 3 days. If within 3 days your gel polish chips, we will fix that nail.

How do you remove
the gel?
Remove the top layer with a 180 grit file
Apply 100% Pure Acetone to a cotton ball and wrap with Aluminum Foil
After 5 minutes, remove the wrap and use an orange wood stick to remove some of the color - this is a process so you will have to put the wrap on (repeat on every nail)
Wrap for another 5 minutes.
Check the first nail you unwrap to see if the remaining product comes off easily. If not, rewrap (more acetone may be needed if the cotton ball is dry). If the product comes off...
Clean the nail by lightly buffing the surface.
Walah! You are done (Go see your nail tech :)
